Colorado United

Recreational & Rec+

Colorado United provides recreational teams from U6 (Birth Year 2018) to U15 (Birth Year 2009). These teams all play a variety of game types, from small-sided 3v3 soccer games to 9v9.

All recreational players should receive at least 50% playing time, in game situations. All recreational team coaches are volunteers, and utilize some form of volunteer referees, depending on the age of the team (outlined below). Teams will have 7-8 games per season, typically on Saturdays. An occasional Sunday or weekday game may occur due to weather/reschedules. Age groups have “flights” of teams (where available) to match the most appropriate level of competition for each team.

Outlined below are the features and differences between the age groups and what the programs entail.

U4 - U5

Our introduction to soccer for U4 is the Littleton Lollipops program. The coaching staff will introduce the children to a variety of new games and activities that incorporate basic body movements and ball skills.

Our U5 recreational soccer program is the next step in the progression. Together, our staff and a parent volunteer coach will lead the team training session followed by a 30-minute game, broken up into two 12 min halves, with a 5 min half time.

Complete information about the U4 and U5 programs can be found on the

U4 – U5 Page.

U6 - U7
